Be Our Guest..

This week we had not one, not two, but THREE special guests this week that were willing to take time out of their busy days, to read a couple stories for our little ones.

Our first guest readers, we would like to introduce are Paul and Monica Garvey! These two are grandparents to our very own Eli who is in our Pre-k 3 class. They read three books to our Pre-K classes. Eli and the rest of his friends enjoyed you reading to them! We thank you so very much!

Our second special guest we would like to introduce is, Joe Morgan. Joe is the father of Rhys in our Preschool 2 class. Rhys has a very strong personality that we love very much. He is very much like his father who is very out going and willing to do whatever! Rhys was very excited to sit beside his dad and help him act out each of the books his father read. Thank you so much Joe for spending time out of your day reading to our Preschool classes!

Our third and final guest we would like to introduce is Kristie Collins. Mrs. Kristie is mother to our very own Ms. Kandiss (Our Preschool 2 teacher) and grandmother (G)to little Miss Kenzleigh in our Pre-K 3 class.
Mrs. Kristie shared Kenzleigh’s all time favorite book, “I love you Stinky Face!”

We are so thankful for each family’s support and all that you do for us here at The Academy.
We look forward to more special guests the rest of this month in celebration of National Literacy Month!
Be on the look out for more pictures and lots of other fun activities.

Literacy Month Kickoff!

Last week at AoILV, we kicked off literacy month with a special guest of our own. We want to give a huge shoutout to Illana Tate who came to read to our littles. We enjoyed each book you read. The littles absolutely loved it.

This week we kick back into school mode and start back with our Frogstreet Curriculum. We aim to give each child the materials they need to learn and grow. Frogstreet helps us achieve that. Most people think of learning as sitting and doing a worksheet. Frogstreet helps us enhance learning through play!

If you keep up with our blog, you know last week we introduced Zeus, our Preschool 2 class pet. This week, we caught Zeus trying to wake up and start his day. The pictures are just too cute to handle.

We hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Labor Day!

Here’s some pictures from last week.

Back to school week 2020

Last week at AoILV we went over what to expect when going back to school.

We also spoke with the children about how we act during school, our walking feet, our inside voices, helping clean up and how we make new friends. We also spoke with the children about each center we offer in the classroom and how to play in each center.

We also had our last special guest of the summer, The Nashville Zoo! It wasn’t what we expected and we weren’t able to see the animals in real life but they made our experience very special! We are so thankful for our community and everything they are willing to do for our littles during this time.

Since our final guest of the summer was the zoo, we thought it would be a great time to introduce one of our classroom pets, Zeus. Zeus is an albino guinea pig. He resides in our Preschool 2 classroom. We absolutely love him. The children are always so excited to see him each morning. The next couple of weeks, we will share the importance of taking care of him.

We are so thankful for our school family and everything you continue to do to help us thrive as a school family. We hope everyone has a wonderful week and a safe, long weekend.

Here’s some pictures from last week, including Zeus’s sleepy photo!
