We can't wait to see it all finished! Thanks for letting us be the audience!

Opposites!

Toddler Two is learning all about opposites this week with our Frog Street Curriculum Theme!
The children discussed "In and Out" and placed objects inside and outside of a box. This activity meets the following learning domains:

  • Exploration and Discovery- Shows interest in colors, shapes, patterns, and pictures.
  • Exploration and Discovery- Uses senses to investigate environment to discover what objects and people do, how things work, and how they can make things happen.
  • Problem Solving- Applies knowledge to new situations.

Baby shark is swimming INSIDE the box!

What will happen if I take this block OUT of the box?

I want to see how many toys will fit INSIDE the box! That's a lot of toys!

Finn will help take them OUT of the box.

What a fun activity! Thank you Ms. Allison and Ms. Lea!

Exploring!

Learning takes place in lots of ways in our program! We explore all of our senses to expand our imagination! Check it out!

We are using fine motor skills to compare weight and quantities of water!

Do dominoes weigh more than counting bears? Let's see!

Shake, rattle and roll in Infant 2! Music stimulates brain receptors and fosters community and friendship.

We also play pretend to try out new roles! Maybe we are at the north pole right now... or maybe we are chimney sweepers!

Learning is awesome!

We are Thankful and Helpful

This week in PreK 3, our Frog Street Curriculum provides a magnet book that discusses ways we can be thankful and helpful.
We talked about what these words mean, different contexts, spelling and how we can put them into action!

Check it out!

I am thankful for my family!

I am thankful for my pets!

I can help my friends by helping clean up!

I can help my teacher by following my school family commitment!

PUPPY FRIDAYS!

Want to know what makes Friday's extra special here at the Academy? Every Friday the Sumner County Humane Society visits our center with a special puppy that is up for adoption! Not only do our children look forward to seeing what puppy comes, our staff does as well! It's a great way to end our awesome week!

This is our sweet puppy visitor Dolly!

Our friends welcoming Dolly to their class!

Dolly loved her time with our Todd babies!

Learning about Light!

Our Infant Classrooms explored their senses this week by taking a few opportunities to learn about light and shadows!

Toddler Transition explored contrasting colors, shapes and textures with our homemade light table. This type of exploration builds early comprehension, increases attention and focus, and allows children to see the same objects differently.

This spider looks big!

Jesse loves squares!

This light table is fun, Ms. Jennifer!

My hand is glowing!

Bring more toys over to explore!

Infant One gets outside time daily (weather permitting). This time provides natural Vitamin D, stimulates all our senses and allows the infants to experience early science and nature through smells, touch and sound. Check out our smiles!

This sunshine is so relaxing!

Freshly cut grass smells great!

Do you hear the birds Ms. Kelsie?

Thank you to our wonderful Infant Educators for creating such fun memories and learning opportunities!
