One of the many ways we build this sense of community is through simple, yet fun activities. We just launched our first Thankful Thursday event, Pinecone Bowling! These events will be different each week and will continue for the remainder of the year! Each Thursday we will have an interactive activity set up in our enrichment area for our families to stop and participate! We are so very thankful for our families and the opportunity to witness then grow. What better way to show appreciation than FUN?

Thankful Thursday
AoILV families are like our own. We love to show appreciation, get together, mingle and just have fun! We strive for a sense of community in our school. We learn together, grow together and develop a relationship of mutual respect.

Oh BABY!
One of the main aspects Director, Tracy, and Assistant Director, Candace love most about their jobs is that they get to witness children grow and develop from birth! Once those personalities start to shine, the babies LOVE the spotlight! They pose for the camera and love to see their pictures! Our Infant 3 class steals the show each day!

Soccer Shots!
At AoILV we understand the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and FUN! Soccer Shots comes to visit once weekly to help us instill these early values.
Soccer Shots is a national organization of mentors that focus on positively impacting children’s lives through the game of soccer. Each Friday, mentors from Soccer Shots come visit our school and children have the opportunity to interact with other classmates, work together, focus, play and learn self discipline.
Here's a glimpse of Soccer Shots activities with our Preschool age children! Come by and find out more info!

Dramatic Play
Play is such an important part of a child's development. With a background in Play Therapy, Assistant Director Candace Irvin understands first hand how therapeutic and vital play is. Candace, along with Director, Tracy Brown, encourage a balance of free and guided play in each classroom. Play allows children to make sense of the world around them. It allows them to learn from others, develop reasoning, and develop creativity and independence. Here's a glimpse at ways we foster play at AoILV:
Preschool 3 is creating what looks like a castle! This is teaching teamwork, geometry, fine motor and balance!
Preschool 2 is creating a farm! By building the "fence" together, the children are learning to take turns. The teacher is also discussing each animal as she places them inside the fence.
We encourage adults to play too! That's why our parent company is called Never Grow Up! 😊
Here are resources on how you can incorporate more meaningful play at home:

New Faces
We had a few new faces around AoILV this week! Our teachers and staff go above and beyond to ensure that each new child feel safe, loved and a part of our Academy family. These new faces were giggling in no time!
Bounce Night!
We love celebrating our families here at AoILV! Last night several of our families joined us at Hoppity Hop Bounce House for some after school fun! Families came in, kicked off their shoes, bounced their hearts out and even had pizza and cupcakes (on us)!!! This is just one of many family events we hold each year. Stay tuned for more event blogs as the Fall theme is "Fall is for Your Family"
