Earth Day 🌎

At AoILV, we encourage a relationship with the Earth. We teach our children what it means to recycle, how the Earth supplies our air we breathe, and how we can take care of the planet. We encourage daily acts of kindness toward Mother Earth, but here is a snippet of how we celebrated Earth Day! 

Our maintenance crew installed our raised beds just in time for Earth Day! We can't wait to grow our own food and herbs to taste! 

 PreK loves taking trips to the recycling bin to turn trash into treasure! We made volcanoes, robots and roads!

It is so refreshing to see the next generation excited about taking care of our planet! 

Artsy Thursday! WOYC 2016

As if we do not celebrate our littles every day... :) 

Each year there is one week solely dedicated to celebrating young children. This week is called The Week of the Young Child (WOYC). Each day contains a theme and we look forward to celebrating our little stars even more than we do each day! 

For "Artsy Thursday", Director, Tracy and Assistant Director, Candace helped create beautiful works of art on the outdoor art stations! Ms. Tracy told stories while Ms. Candace painted. Check it out! 

 

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We've been focusing on our relationship with the Earth and we've decided to reduce waste and put on our creative caps! We started by making our classroom daily sheets electronic with a new Tadpole app for the classrooms, then started to reduce the amount of bulletin board paper we were using, and the kiddos have gotten involved by creating art with recyclables rather than unused paper! Stay tuned for more Green our Scene theme! 

Art Auction

DID YOU KNOW?? 

The Academy preschools also have a non- profit ministry, called Branches Ministries, that raises money to support Academy staff and families in times of need. Branches holds several center and community events to raise awareness for this great cause. 

One of the fundraisers is called The Branches Art Auction. This is an annual fundraiser in which classes create a canvas to place up for bid. The children and staff look forward to getting creative and messy for their displays!
