March for Morgan

Here at the Academy we have connected with a child who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. We have been working closely with her family. This weekend we did a March 4 Morgan. All of the proceeds went to pediatric cancer research. When asked Morgan stated that her goal was to raise $2,010 for pediatric cancer research. Well the polls came in and she raised $5,500 in one day!! It was an amazing out pouring of support from the community. She is a precious, spunky little girl. She participates in cheerleading and is an awesome athlete! It has been our pleasure getting to know Morgan and working with her family to help raise money and awareness about pediatric cancer. Here is just one of the many facts about childhood cancer. Each year in the United States, approximately 13,500 children and adolescents 18 and under are diagnosed with cancer, that’s more than a classroom of kids a day. Humane Society Week

We had a very special week last week. We did a drive for the Sumner County Humane Society. We collected beds and toys as well as food for the dogs and cats. We were lucky enough to have a very special guest come and visit. Zeus they dog came to visit. Most of the children loved having a furry friend visit, while others were a bit more reserved. He was a very nice little puppy and enjoyed playing with all of our friends on the play ground! Grandparent Luncheon

We had our Third Annual grandparent luncheon. It was a great event, one of our favorites here at AOILV. Some grandparents came from out of state to come and have lunch with their grandchildren. It was such a joy to see multiple generations coming together to have lunch! We love bringing families together at The Academy Of Indian Lake Village. The children loved having their grandparents come to school and eat with them, its a memory they will carry with them for years to come. Dress up like Mom or Dad

Today was a special dress up day at The Academy of Indian Lake Village. We dressed up like our Mom or Dad. It has been so fun to see what the parents and the kids have come up with!! One of our parents is also a teacher here at The Academy she made a shirt that said I love the Academy, another one of our friends even had a 5 o'clock shadow just like his dad!!
