Music Week!

The Power of Play Theme is moving right along!!! Last week's focus was Music! Each room enhanced their music centers and brought in experiences that fosters so many areas of early childhood development. Here are just a few examples:

PreK 3 incorporated a real violin into Music Week! This experience taught care and compassion for a new object and enhanced our listening skills!

We learned new language such as "pitch" and "tune".

In Infants, we provided contrasting black and white photos of music notes and scales along with age appropriate musical instruments. Contrasting colors captivate and hold a baby's attention, encouraging visual development as well as physical activity such as wiggling, kicking and waving!

Rock Star Dress Up Day gave us the opportunity to discuss commonalities, music genres, and build bonds through dramatic play!

This Music themed Dramatic Play Band provided a chance to dream of future goals, practice sharing and teamwork!

This stretchy band homemade guitar gave our infants and toddlers the opportunity to understand cause and effect, that objects make sound and enhance fine motor development!

Lastly, PreK 1 created drums out of items at the school. This gives children a chance to problem solve, experiment and try their own ideas! Great work and they sounded fantastic!

Thank you to our wonderful teachers for creating such a warm, fun and education environment.
We love all of you!
