Happy Birthday Elmo

Elmo came out to the school to celebrate his birthday with all The Academy kids. We sang him "Happy Birthday" and he made party hats for everyone.  The children had a great time meeting Elmo and couldn't wait to show their parents the party hats. It was a great time that no one will soon forget!

Fitness Fanatics Events

Gold's Gym Visits

One of the trainers from Gold's Gym came out to our center to talk to all The Academy kids about healthy eating and exercising. He went through a basic work out plan. All the kids enjoyed meeting and working out with a trainer.

The Branches Bolt Tini-Marathon

 To encourage each child towards better health and to raise funds for Branches Ministries, each school hosted a “Tini”-Marathon!  The Branches Bolt  consisted of 20 laps (max) or less on race day. The Academy families pledged to raise pledges/donations for race day from friends and family.   Their support for Branches provided needed funds to support your family, teachers and staff in times of need.  We invited all families to attend and/or race with your child on BOLT day!

Before our race we all stretched with Ms. Carrie. Stretching before working out is very important.

Preschool running their laps. They were the the most excited about running around their playground. Ms. Amanda and Ms. Jenn ran with them. Everyone felt so good after exercising together.

Pre-K had a blast running with their friends. They ran under the slides and around the play scape. Everyone was breathing heavy from the activity. When they were all done, they were talking about the next time they would run laps around the playground.

After all the exercising, the friends got together for a sisterly hug and some laughs. Everyone had a blast.

Be a Fitness Fanatic!!!

What does it take to be a Fitness Fanatic? Well, we are glad you asked. At The Academy of Indian Lake Village being a Fitness Fanatic means eating healthy and working out with your family. During this time you keep a log of your family fitness hours and the person with the most wins a free week of tuition. Who wouldn't love a free week of tuition? Make sure you sign-up by decorating your sneaker in the Enrichment Room.


To Kick-off Fitness Fanatics we had a school wide pep rally. All The Academy Kids cheered up and down the hallways and waved their pom poms.  We are all so excited to start Fitness Fanatics. It was a great sight to see.

Mr. Brent from Gold's Gym visited us today to show The Academy Kids how to exercise properly and spoke about the importance of eating healthy foods. They did jumping jacks, squats, and many more fun exercises. All The Academy Kids loved Mr. Brent and cannot wait for him to come back for another visit.

We have really decked out the school to support this new event. The stage is set up to represent a little gym. Feel free to use these materials to achieve your family fitness goals. Also, all of our teachers decorated their doors to inform you about healthy eating and exercise tips. If you have not already had a chance to see everything, come look around. Mrs. Angela created The Hungry Caterpillar. It turned out amazing. We love each of our teachers and everything they do to make The Academy the best preschool around!

Happy New Year

Welcome to The Academy of Indian Lake Village's Online Newsletter. We are so happy to be able to share all the wonderful things that happen here at The Academy. Let us take a quick look at what happened in 2011. 

October

Sneak Peak

Ariel and many other friends helped us celebrate our opening in October. We had pony rides, carnival food, and plenty of fun games. It was so nice to see all of our families and community members. Everyone had a blast.

The Best Magic Show Ever

The Academy Kids loved meeting the magician. He brought doves and a rabbit for them to see. The enrichment room was filled with laughter and excited smiles. After this, everyone talked about the magician for at least two weeks. We enjoy being able to provide a lasting memory for all The Academy Kids.

         

            Cookie Monster's Birthday

Cookie Monster came to visit our school on his birthday. Each class decorated cookies for snack and sang him "Happy Birthday."  The children loved seeing Cookie Monster in their classrooms.

                                                                                  

 A Visit From The Firemen

When the firemen came to visit all The Academy kids were filled with excitement. They could not wait to meet them and see their fire truck. One fireman got into full gear to show the children what a fireman would look like when going into a burning building. He wanted to teach them not to be afraid when they see a fireman in his full gear.

   Teddy Bear Parade

Everyone was able to show off their favorite stuffed animal by taking them around the school during The Teddy Bear Parade. It was so cute seeing everyone with their adorable stuffed animals. We even had  a giant caterpillar and a giant teddy bear join us that day.

   Halloween Party

Halloween was a fun time at The Academy. The costumes were so creative and everyone had their fill of candy. The teachers even got  into the spirit with their costumes. We had super heroes, animals, princesses, cowgirls and many more wonderful characters at The Academy all day!

November

 Reading Stone Soup

Ms. Rachel dressed as the old woman from  Stone Soup and had all The Academy Kids help her act out the story. We each worked together to make stone soup. It was a wonderful lesson about team work and friendship. After this everyone had soup for lunch.

                                   

Reading Where the Wild Things Are 

Again, Ms. Rachel dressed up as Max from Where the Wild Things Are and read the story to the whole school. The Academy kids were engrossed in the story and loved seeing Max. We love Ms. Rachel and her willingness to dress up for story time.

December

Best of Parenting Celebration Week

Thank you to all the parents' who voted us Best of Parenting. It is truly our pleasure to be able to provide care for all your wonderful children. To show our appreciation we had a Best of Parenting celebration week. During this week we tie dyed shirts, face painted, disco danced and much more.

 Santa and Mrs. Claus Visit

Santa and Mrs. Claus took time out of their busy schedule to come visit all The Academy kids. Everyone was able to listen to Mrs. Claus read one of her favorite books: Twas The Night Before Christmas.  We were all happy to see the here. Everyone was

      Christmas Program

Thank you to all of our families who attended the Christmas Program. We all had a great time. It was so nice seeing all The Confident Academy Kids showing off their talents. Mrs. Brenda our cook prepared wonderful treats for us to enjoy. Thank you Mrs. Brenda for making the night special.
